Welcome to Harness Racing Training Centre

The Harness Racing Training Centre(HRTC) was established in 1990 to provide a point of entry for anyone wishing to participate in the harness racing industry.

The Centre was established at Bendigo in 1990 because of the strength of the harness racing industry in the area and the willingness of the local trainers to assist with the development of the students.

The Centre has a state of the art stable complex and maintains a team of horses for students to develop their practical skills. The horses are regularly raced providing valuable experience for the student group.

In recent years the Centre has developed a strong online capability, delivering the knowledge aspects of it's courses online through-out Australia.

The strength of the HRTC is it's strong hands-on training facility where students develop their horsemanship and build the skills necessary to train and drive harness horses.

The HRTC was accredited as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO22215) in 2010. AQTF audit information can be obtained by email request. (See contact us)

News

After finishing 2011 with a good win at Maryborough Harness with Citiscape 2012 is shaping up well at the HRTC stables. A group of 12 keen students are working with the stable to develop their knowledge and skills. The stable is preparing for it's first few horses to trial in late March and will be back racing during April.

Melton

HRTC at Melton has commenced two new groups for 2012. Certificate 11 in Racing (Stablehand) and a Certificate 111 in Racing (Advanced Stablehand) courses are now underway.

Hayley Payley

Congratulations to exstudent Hayley Payley who landed a job at the prestigious thoroughbred stable owned by Darley. Darley is the international branding of Sheik Mahommad and one of the strongest racing groups in the world.
